Humans of Total Fitouts – Joel Busstra

 

He is the man behind the Total Fitouts machine.

 

National Operations Manager Joel Busstra, is the systems surgeon behind all that goes on at Total Fitouts. That would mean nothing to our commercial fitout clients, but to us it means everything.

 

Total Fitouts have never come across someone who gets as excited about solving IT problems, continually evolving systems and manuals and researching new software to make fitout delivery easier for our franchises, as Joel does. Our franchises love him for that.

 

Prior to join forces with Total Fitouts, Joel had spent more than 10 years honing his craft as a Systems Integration Manager and Business Development Manager for International companies. This experience allowed him to hit the ground running as he was employed to implement and train our franchisees in our world-class job management software, which he attributes as his biggest achievement for the company. The motivation for his hard-work is that “it is great to see (the job management system) working successfully in action and also seeing it help people to run and manage their business”.

 

His helpful nature is accredited to the amazing family life he was raised in, after being adopted from Sri Lanka when he was 7 days old by Australian parents, and the style of family he has helped create with his beautiful wife Aleisha, for his two daughters Aaliyah and Mia.

 

Joel believes in establishing a culture, both for his family and his work-place. That culture involves working selflessly for one another and also being progressive and always willing to listen to new ideas that could be implemented in all facets of his life.

 

A person in an operations role has to be at the forefront of a creating culture that encourages being willing to listen to a lot of ideas, take a step back, research the viability of everyone’s opinions and make informed decisions, and potentially implement or hold off on ideas. That to us at Total Fitouts shows gutsy leadership, and to us, Joel is that type of leader.

 

Whether it be with operations systems, or any other function of the Total Fitouts machine, Joel’s opinion is one that is respected by all and a true testament to man that he is.
