Al Bitic and the Total Fitouts Sutherland Shire team were approached by the owners of Eye Concepts Merrylands to defit an existing retail space and fit out a simple, clean and stylish optometry store.
The scope was to make their medical fitout feel warm and welcoming, whilst still being practical and functional. The owners desired a modern comfortable experience for their customers, multiple consultation rooms, and a feature reception area.
Al and the team removed all existing joinery and panelling. Lifted the flooring and ‘made good’ the old tenancy. Fresh paint, oversized floor tiles and vertical panels were installed to cement the foundation of the design. The addition of Rockcote, touch-textured render feature walls, bespoke display cabinetry and drawers, and eye-catching neon signage began to transform the space, adding warmth, texture and interest.
Led strip lighting was wired in along the shelves to create atmosphere and warmth; the addition of thoughtfully positioned plants gave pops of greenery and a more natural feel to the medical space, which traditionally has a more clinical and colder look.
A simple black marble reception desk was custom-made to create a focal point for customers upon entry, whilst hiding ugly computers, wires and paperwork from sight. The front window was transformed with a clever bespoke joinery frame, custom-made signage and a stylish geometric shell window overlay.
Al and the Total Fitouts Sutherland Shire team expertly managed the defit, design, construct and build project, delivering bespoke finishes, custom timber joinery and warm finishes. The result is a functional, practical optometry / medical fitout with a welcoming and warm feel.
