My Secret Wardrobe commercial retail fitout by Total Fitouts Sydney Inner West, for client Rima, transformed a luxury dress hire & sales clothing store in Yagoona, NSW. Located in an up and coming area of Sydney, the store’s commercial design emphasises a clean, minimal, and industrial aesthetic.

The commercial design features a clean, minimal, and modern aesthetic with a focus on industrial-inspired elements. Sleek stainless steel sliding barn doors with exposed hardware adds a touch of industrial flair to the crisp white wall, while the long, minimal handle complements the overall streamlined look. The retail space uses a predominantly white colour palette, creating a fresh and airy atmosphere. Salem Assad, Director at Total Fitouts Sydney Inner West says, “Custom metal garment racks and geometric metal wall features completed by my team introduce simple, polished lines, adding visual interest and depth to the space.”

Track lighting fixtures on the ceiling maintain a modern, gallery-like ambience, keeping the focus on the open, uncluttered floor area, which is ideal for flexible displays. Striking green marble benchtops in the service area add a slight pop of colour. In the change room area, large mirrors with integrated soft LED lighting enhance the sense of space and create an inviting atmosphere. Grey curtains provide privacy while contrasting subtly with the surrounding white walls, maintaining a neutral tone that harmonises with the rest of the design.

Salem continues, “Recessed ceiling lighting continues the clean, modern look, ensuring the space is well-lit without harsh overhead lights.”

The overall design emphasises functionality and aesthetics, aligning with a modern, minimalistic approach that is both stylish and practical for a retail environment.

Unique elements in the commercial retail fitout include curved stainless steel fittings and pictures on swivels, custom-made to the client’s specifications, allowing for easy updates to the store’s visuals. The project involved the front-of-house steel framework, taking 1.5 weeks for manufacturing and 1 week for installation. The commercial interior design was crafted by Something More Design (Keely), while the client personally managed the commercial fitout.

The final result is a beautifully crafted ladies’ fashion store that captures the essence of minimalist elegance while offering a modern, inviting space for customers. The efficient use of space, paired with a clean colour palette and carefully curated commercial design elements, creates a bright and welcoming atmosphere, making My Secret Wardrobe a standout destination in Yagoona.
