Total Fitouts Adelaide Central recently completed a commercial hospitality fitout for Thai Room, a Thai cuisine restaurant located in the Adelaide CBD. Led by Brett Kelly and his team, the project aimed to transform an empty commercial tenancy into a luxurious, romantic, moody space with a dark green and burgundy colour palette. Thai Room is renowned for its traditional Thai food with a modern twist.
The scope of work included creating an enticing entry space, an inviting outdoor seating area, a spacious dining area, a functional kitchen, and amenities. The interior design of Thai Room was carefully curated by the in-house designers at Total Fitouts Adelaide Central. The concept draws inspiration from the use of dark green and burgundy red, symbolising a rich and warm garden, while exuding elegance and a touch of mystery. The goal was to create an intimate and cozy atmosphere that seamlessly integrates the kitchen and wine room experience.
The front section of the commercial hospitality fitout features a dark green exterior with bespoke signage, capturing the attention of passersby. Upon entering, guests are greeted by an inviting waiting area adorned with a Venetian plastered arch feature (which followed through to the bar), custom signage, and a gold accent table. These elements contribute to a warm and elegant ambience, setting the tone for the restaurant.
Brett and his team of skilled carpenters delivered a high-quality hospitality fitout, characterised by high ceilings, dark green walls, and a textured exposed stone wall. A custom dark marble bar counter takes centre stage in the dining space, accompanied by white-covered tables and comfortable seating, complete with burgundy cushions that harmonise with the overall theme. The dark marble from the bar counter extends throughout the room, contrasting with the concrete texture below to infuse a modern touch into the space.
Danielle Camerlengo, in-house designer for Total Fitouts Adelaide Central said, “Hanging exposed lighting fixtures, a large lamp at the back of the restaurant, and small table lamps create a captivating and mood-enhancing lighting scheme, adding to the luxurious and moody hospitality fitout. Additional features include a custom burgundy wooden wine glass display cabinet, a restored dark green fireplace, and a grand chandelier that complements the traditional and classy ambience.”

To complete the overall theme, candles, wine bottles showcased in burgundy wooden cabinetry displays, and carefully placed plants were added to enhance the rich and warm garden atmosphere.
